Time Out

We have discovered that taking a break from farming is the hardest thing to do. There is always something that needs doing or some animals that need attention, we were warned by several farming friends that it really is 24/7 and they were right even on our small scale. Farming apart we are having a really busy summer, both with guests in the holiday let and friends and family staying in the house. However having people stay with us the excuse needed to explore the area and to literally take that break .
We have had several boat trips and have been lucky enough to see a couple of pods of dolphins, some immediately outside Goodwick Harbour. They seem to love frolicking around the boat.
It is also amazing to see the farm from the water rather than the other way round, the cliffs look absolutely enormous.
A few exploratory beach days, and quite a bit of sea swimming. The Pembrokeshire coast is just so stunning, particularly in all this glorious sunny weather we have been having. The sea has been turquoise and absolutely see through, could be anywhere in the world – just wonderful.
Several walks along the coastal path to Melin Tregwynt Woollen Mill and Abermawr/Aberbach beaches. The most stunning walk with that lovely cafe in the Woollen Mill at the end! We have also discovered Newport beach is wonderful for the dogs with a huge expanse of sand at low tide and little cafe for take away coffee/snacks.
We are surrounded by the beauty of this part of the world all the time, but a good reminder to step off the farm and explore afield. We are so lucky living here………!!
