Old fence removal… not always going right!

We have been removing old fencing from the 4 fields immediately around the house and yard before contractors come to put up new stock fencing. For good relations with neighbours, we think it’s best to get good fencing before the cattle and sheep arrive!

Some of the fields have several fences buried deep in the undergrowth of the walls. I pulled some out by hand, but decided we needed a little motorised help… enter the car with rope… not always successful…

Of course, we ended up with a shorter rope, but eventually (with addition of a chain!) the old wire has been removed.

When the contractors are done on these 4 fields, we’ll have about 20 acres of good fenced grazing close the the buildings.  That gets us going.
